FAQs

What is Rugrats Resale?
Rugrats Resale is a semi-annual children’s and maternity consignment sale. The sale includes any items that are related to children: toys, clothing, costumes, shoes, baby equipment, outdoor equipment, books, DVDs, CDs, and furniture. The sale also includes maternity clothing.

How does the sale work?
Consignors register with Rugrats Resale and receive a consignor number (see "New Consignor Sign Up" under the "Consignors" tab). Consignors must have a minimum of 15 items. Prepare your items according to the “Tagging Instructions” page. This includes entering your items through our online tagging system and printing your tags. SEE OUR VIDEO DEMO OF THE SYSTEM (Tagging Demo) under the "Consignors" tab.  Drop your items off during the drop-off time, located on the “Sale Schedule & Directions” page under the "Consignors" tab. After the sale, pick up any unsold items or donate your unsold items to charity.

Why consign with Rugrats Resale?
We provide an indoor sale location for your items. We display your items on racks and tables based on item category. We advertise for customers. You set the price for your items. We accept payment for your items and send you a check for 70% of your selling price (minus a $6 consignor fee). You don’t have to advertise for a yard sale, hope customers show up, deal with people trying to bargain with you, or worry about the weather!

Why shop Rugrats Resale?
We provide a nice, indoor environment to shop for gently-used children’s and maternity items. We gather many consignors’ items together in one place. There’s easy parking. All items are marked with a price.

What fees do consignors pay?
Rugrats Resale deducts a small fee of $6.00 from your check to help offset the costs of holding and advertising the sale. Rugrats Resale will deduct 30% of your profits from the sale. If you do not provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope at drop-off, a $1.00 fee will be deducted from your proceeds.

What is the pre-sale?
Consignors are able to shop the sale before the public. Volunteers are rewarded by shopping the sale before the consignors. If you don’t have anything to consign, but want to shop the sale early, please volunteer!

What is the 1st Time Moms' Club?
Moms expecting their first babies, moms of first babies 18 months and younger, and first-time adopting moms can register to attend a special pre-sale. The registration form is under "1st Moms Sign Up" under the "1st Moms' Club" tab. This pre-sale will be limited to the first 75 moms who register and who have not attended a 1st Time Moms' Pre-sale in the past.

What methods of payment are accepted at the sale?
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (Mastercard/Visa/Discover). ALL SALES ARE FINAL. A $25 fee will be assessed for returned checks.

When will consignors receive their checks?
Checks are mailed no later than one week after the sale.

Where do the unsold items marked for charity go?
Our designated charity is Centre Grounds, a community-based initiative to establish a non-profit community center for young children and their families in Centre County. All unsold items that are marked to go to charity will be donated to Centre Grounds. These items will be sold in a yard sale to raise money for the group. Please visit their website for more info, www.centregrounds.org.
